Hi, I'm Charles!

Ever since I first held a camera, I’ve been captivated by the way a single frame can freeze a fleeting moment. Photography, for me, is more than just a hobby—it’s a way of seeing the world. Through the lens, ordinary scenes transform into stories, emotions, and memories I might otherwise forget.

I love how photography demands both patience and spontaneity. It teaches me to slow down, to notice the subtle shifts in light or the expression on someone’s face just before they smile.

What Photography Means To Me

Photography helps me look at the world in a different way. Because of photography, I notice shapes and patterns, leading lines, or naturally occurring frames in the landscape, and I often have to stop the car or go back to where I saw the shot. Then I have to try to find the best angle, often with someone saying, "Come on press the button, we need to be on our way!"

If I decide to take the photo then it has to be the best that I can do. I love sharing that beauty with others through my photos.

My favorite Photo

I have a difficult time choosing my favorite photo.

I find that the photo that might be my favorite today will change by next month, and that is because it depends on who I'm talking to, what I'm thinking about and where I am at the time.

These 2 baby Rainbow Lorikeets were sitting on the deck railing just outside my bedroom window. When adult they are quite aggressive for their size scaring off birds much larger.

Maybe next month my favourite photo will be different. I like variety.
